Queen Rania stated on Friday, Feb. 10, 2007, "What is important is not to live in fear. The most dangerous (thing to do) is to give up and lose hope. The main enemy is not terrorism or extremism, but ignorance." What do you make of this statement? Do you believe this statement is true, hypocritical or misleading? Does it reflect the state of political and human rights affairs in Jordan, the Arab and Muslim worlds? Please explain briefly.

Constitutional Changes in Jordan

Jordan is now governed by absolute monarchical system: the king appoints the prime minister, members of the Senate and he has the upper hand in steering the country in the direction he chooses. What do you think should be done re: this situation? Do you agree that the king?s current authoritarian governing style must be addressed through constitutional changes? How can Jordanians plan for this change? Please explain briefly: one or two short paragraphs.

What do Jordanians need to do to get rid of this "disease" and do you think that the state needs to grandfather (go back to) previous major corruption cases and prosecute those corrupt individuals, including members of the royal family?
